About Us

Wendell Ott, owner of EnergyWize, is a certified Building Analyst Professional through the Building Performance Institute (BPI), which requires ongoing training and recertification every 3 years. Wendell uses his knowledge of building science principals and experience with residential energy efficiency practices to make homes more comfortable and lower energy costs.

Our focus is on the relationships between the building envelope, heating, A/C, insulation, ventilation, appliances, and other systems to make homes more healthy, comfortable and energy efficient.

Over the past 15 years, EnergyWize has provided hundreds of in-depth home audits. We have conducted over 5,000 blower door tests and hundreds of duct tightness tests. We were one of the original participating contractors in the CenterPoint Energy (Vectren) home rebate program.

Since 2013, we have been supporting home builders and contractors with testing to help them comply with Ohio Building Code for energy efficiency. We have partnerships with several insulation and building service contractors to regularly diagnose air sealing, insulation, and moisture issues.
